Much of the dialogue within the Christian community about tithes & offerings focuses on either stewardship or rewards. In this blog, let's expand the dialogue by examining how God is using offertory giving to build our relationship with Him and each other. - Several years ago, Rev. Andre Allen (while Pastor of Second Baptist Church of Wheaton) requested that I make the offertory appeal to our congregation during our Sunday worship services. At that time I was serving as a deacon and budget chairperson of the church. I sought God regarding the messages I should share. While compiling these messages for publication, God revealed to me the theme of the messages He had given to me. What I found is that while I was focused on giving He was focused on relationships. The guidance in scripture regarding our giving is also guidance regarding our relationship with God. I believe He has invited me to assist in facilitating a dialogue within the Christian Community about this topic. MY COMMENTS ARE MY OWN AND NOT THE OFFICIAL POSITIONS OF ANY CHURCH OR OTHER ORGANIZATION!!
